A Word From Pastor James
Over the last three years, it has been incredible to watch what the Lord has done through our newDay capital campaign. In the fall of 2018, the members and regular attenders of Red Lane pledged to give over $727,000 to build and renovate our space. To date, there has been over $780,000 given. Back then, there was no doubt we had heard from God and that He called us to this task. However, the thought of raising that much money seemed impossible - almost like we could not believe it, event though we had been told to do so (Habakkuk 1:5). God was faithful, and He exceeded our wildest expectations.
Well the task is not yet done. The renovation of the main floor has begun, and Lord willing it will be done by Easter. We have know from the beginning that we would take on debt through this project. We have also been committed to eliminating this debt as soon as possible. Now that we have reached the conclusion of newDay, the mission and vision of Red Lane continues. We desire to see people come to God, grow in God, and go to others with God. We are calling this Vision2024. The elders and I have been praying and talking for many months about our future, and we believe He has given us clarity. This is a three-year vision for our church that lays out how we believe the Lord wants us to be involved and engaged, here and there. During these three years, we will focus on enriching our ministry offerings, expanding our Acts 1:8 strategy, enhancing our campus, and establishing margin for future ministry.
Enriching our Ministry Offerings
How are we called, committed, and creative believers going to saturate our 10-mile radius with the Gospel of Jesus Christ? By focusing on our measures through enriched ministry offerings, Reed Lane will equip and mobilize believers to live on mission in every aspect of their lives. Our efforts over the next three years will include establishing off-campus Small Groups and investing in discipleship for all ages.
Enhancing our Campus
To fully capitalize on our location in the community, our leaders are looking for specific ways we can resource the campus to further achieve our mission. Investing in our children’s space will provide us opportunities to better serve and engage with young families. Making improvements to the children’s space on the lower level will cost approximately $50,000.

Establishing Margin for Future Ministry
Debt reduction is a key priority over the next 3 years. Red Lane will be able to establish greater margin for future ministry and missions impact by reducing the debt accrued from the construction of the Admin Building and the renovation of the Worship Center. Annually, $90,312 will be going towards debt reduction through our budget over twenty years. As we work to establish greater margin for future ministry, the retirement of this debt will allow the church to invest in more sending, more ministry, and more capital to address the needs of our aging yet well-used campus.
Expanding our Acts 1:8 Strategy
Red Lane has been called to plant, revitalize, and invest in churches and missionaries “in Jerusalem, in all Judea, and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth” (Acts 1:8). We will:
Continue to partner with churches and missionaries locally, nationally, and internationally.
Expand our partnerships to unreached peoples in the United States and around the world.
Intentionally equip and sent Red Lane members to plant and replant churches throughout the United States and around the world.
Plant King’s Cross Church in Blacksburg with our current partners in order to reach people in that college town.
Expand the kingdom of God globally by working with other likeminded churches who share a passion and vision for living on mission, making disciples, and multiplying churches.
Double our missions giving annually over three years.
