Our Mission

For by him all things were created, in heaven and on earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or authorities - all things were created through him and for him. (Colossians 1:16)

Ascribe to the LORD the glory due his name; worship the LORD in the splendor of holiness. (Psalm 29:2)

(19) Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, (20) teaching them observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age. (Matthew 28:19-20)

——

From these verses specifically and the teaching of Scripture generally, we discover our mission as a church: We exist to bring glory to God by making disciples of our neighbors and the nations. God is worthy of the worship of all people because He is the Creator of all things. Thus, we bring glory to Him by making disciples.

Our purpose is to glorify God. Our strategy is by making disciples. Our goal is to reach our neighbors and the nations.

We firmly believe Jesus has called us to be a church that intentionally, strategically, creatively, and urgently takes the Gospel to our neighbors and to the nations. This is our mission.

Of All Nations

of all nations.

Our Vision

To make this happen, we need a vision that is biblical, championed by our leaders, and embraced by our congregation. It has been said: “Vision is a clear mental picture of what could be; fueled by the conviction that it should be.” Based on the Bible’s teaching and the overarching theme of the New Testament, the vision of Red Lane Baptist Church is:

We are generations of people taking the Gospel to our neighbors and the nations, seeing hope come to the hopeless, healing to the broken, forgiveness to the sinful, and reconciliation to the separated. We see people following Jesus and experiencing the miracle of restoration in their lives.

This vision requires our church to structure itself to:

Grow people rather than programs.
Go and share rather than wait for people to come and see.
• Consider ourselves as missionaries to our community.
